Embarking on a Journey: Discovering the Sacred Afro-American Traditions
Greetings, dear readers, Mo Júbà!
Allow me to introduce myself as Baba Tilo de Àjàgùnnà, a humble seeker of wisdom in the Afro-American traditions. I am honored to be part of this diverse and rich tapestry of cultures, having been initiated into the Brazilian Ifá traditions of Candomblé, Umbanda, and Catimbó. My lineage traces back to Ilê Axé Iyá Nassô Oká, the renowned Casa Branca in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Alongside my spiritual journey, I also wear the hat of a scientist and researcher, striving to bridge the gap between ancient traditions and modern understanding. You may even find my name on the cover of a best-selling book.
Today, I stand before you not as a guru but as a fellow traveler on the path of knowledge and spirituality. I lead a spiritual house near Munich, Germany, where my daily life is guided by the Orishás, and my purpose is illuminated by the revelations, readings, teachings, and practices of Ifá.
Welcome to „Your Daily Ifá,“ an open platform where we explore the sacred Afro-American traditions in a contemporary context. Within the confines of this blog, I aim to provide a space for serious discussions about the diverse traditions of Ifá, Candomblé, Santeria, Vodou, Umbanda, and Palo. Here, we delve into the cultural, philosophical, and spiritual facets of these traditions, seeking not to preach dogma, but to foster understanding.
My vision for this platform is to unite the vibrant communities of Afro-American traditions, celebrating their multifaceted nature. Through my extensive library, comprising over 50,000 revelations, 10,000 myths, and more than 3,000 proverbs, gathered over a decade of global research, I endeavor to share knowledge and present these cultures as they were brought to the Americas, as they exist today, and as they continue to evolve.
Our focus here will be on common ground rather than differences. We will explore concepts, philosophies, rituals, and beliefs that connect us, seeking to build bridges between Afro-American thoughts and Western philosophical schools. This blog aims to be a blend of information, nourishment for the mind, spiritual guidance, and entertainment.
We’ll dive deep into the universal forces of Orishás, the pathways of destiny known as Odus, the rich history, profound philosophical and spiritual concepts, the significance of plants and animals, rituals, and practical guidance. Together, we’ll embark on a journey to enrich our understanding of these traditions and ourselves.
I invite you to join our community, where your voice, insights, and questions are welcomed with open arms. Let’s expand and share our knowledge, and together, uncover the profound beauty and wisdom within these sacred Afro-American traditions.
Thank you for being part of „Your Daily Ifá.“
